Joan Applebaum's colorful paintings of Upstate New York and its woodlands and waterways have been exhibited in galleries and shows throughout New York State.
In addition to being a working artist she also teaches in a variety of places including the Thousand Islands Arts Center in Clayton, the Sackets Harbor Arts Center and the Eye Studio in East Syracuse. She maintains studios at her home base in East Syracuse and her camp in the Indian River Lakes.
Joan’s exhibits have included solo shows at SUNY Oswego Tyler Art Gallery Downtown, The Sackets Harbor Arts Center, Delavan Art Gallery, the Adirondack Centers for the Arts in Blue Mountain Lake and Old Forge, the Community Arts Council Gallery in Utica and several locations in Syracuse and surrounding areas.
She holds memberships in the following art organizations: CNY Branch National League of American Pen Women, Associated Artists of CNY, Bay House Artisans Co-op and the Arts Association of Northern New York. Joan is also a member of WISE Women’s Business Center and Women Business Opportunity Connections in Syracuse.
